The varsity team end their season at 9-6 on the year in a narrow loss against Sidney. This 9-6 match record marks the fifth year in a row that our golf program has achieved a winning record!
Laney White capped off a stellar freshman season with a 9th place finish overall in the DII Sectional Golf Tournament on Wednesday. Laney’s 97 was the lowest round by a freshman in the entire field (13 strokes lower than the next best freshman golfer in the whole tournament). Congratulations on a great season, Laney!

The varsity golf team improved to 9-5 on the season with wins over Anna (171) and Fairlawn (193) on Monday. Tanner Voisard was match medalist with a personal-best 36. Luke Crim was match silver-medalist with a personal-best 39. Reagan Steiner and Seth Merickel each fired 47's. Bryce Lukey and Joey Leist each battled hard after tough starts to score a 48 and a 49 respectively. With two matches left in the season, our team has now secured a winning record for the fifth season in a row!

Lowest "away match" 9-hole score in school history!
The varsity golf team improved to 7-5 on the season with a win over St. Henry on Thursday. Our 9-home team score of 160 is the lowest away course team score in school history! Tanner Voisard led the team with a 37. Reagan Steiner fired a person-best 38. Luke Crim had his season best with a 39. Joey Leist added a 46 (matching the second-best round his career). Seth Merickel and Bryce Lukey each had solid 47’s. Laney White fired a 49 to beat all of St. Henry's JV golfers.
This match was played in a matchplay format, wherein each Houston golfer played an individual hole-by-hole match against a single golfer from St. Henry. Tanner Voisard tied his match against his opponent. Luke Crim won in dominant fashion against St. Henry's #2 golfer. Reagan Steiner had the biggest win of the night, closing out his match on hole 6! Seth Merickel and Bryce Lukey each tied their respective matches. The total ending result was a 3.5 to 2.5 match victory for Houston.

The varsity golf team matched the school record 9-hole team score of 159 during the OHSAA Sectional Golf Tournament! The team also fired the second-lowest 18-hole round in school history with a 339! Tanner Voisard led the team with a 79. Luke Crim tied his personal-best 18-hole score with a 86. Reagan Steiner fired a personal-best 87. Bryce Lukey also fired a personal-best 87. Seth Merickel fired a 95 (one stroke from his personal-best).

The varsity golf team fired their second-lowest 9-hole team score on the year with a 169 on Monday. Leading the team was Tanner Voisard with a 36 (ties the 4th lowest 9-hole individual score in school history). Our 169 was good enough for a 25 stroke victory over Fairlawn and a very narrow 3 stroke loss to a solid DI golf school (Sidney).

The varsity golf team fired their lowest 18-hole score of the year during the SCAL finals on Thursday. Tanner Voisard fired a personal best 75 on his way to earn First Team All-SCAL honors (3rd Overall in the SCAL for the entire season). Reagan Steiner fired a personal-best 91! Bryce Lukey had a personal-best 43 on his first nine holes (94 total)! Seth Merickel added a smooth 98 to round out the top four golfers!

The varsity golf team fired a 173 in a league loss to Russia on Thursday at Shelby Oaks GC. Tanner Voisard led the team with a 41, Reagan Steiner fired a 44, Luke Crim added a 45, Joey Leist had a solid 46 and Bryce Lukey had a 48. Seth Merickel was out of the match with a short illness.

The varsity golf team improved to 5-0 (3-0 in the SCAL) with a league win over Jackson Center on Monday. Our season best team score of 168 was two better than Jackson Center’s 170 on the South course of Shelby Oaks. Tanner Voisard was match medalist with a 37. Luke Crim battled for a 42. Reagan Steiner added a smooth 43. Joey Leist and Bryce Lukey each fired 46’s.

Tanner Voisard fired a 39, including birdies on the first two holes of his round for the second round in a row. Reagan Steiner and Luke Crim fired 41's (a strong personal best for Reagan). Bryce Lukey added a smooth 49.

The varsity team improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over New Knoxville at Shelby Oaks on Tuesday. Tanner Voisard was match medalist with a 41. Luke Crim and Reagan Steiner each found good form on their way to solid 43's. Seth Merickel continued his steady season with a 46. Joey Leist, Bryce Lukey and Laney White each added a 52.

The varsity team improved to 1-0 on the season with an opening day win over Fort Recovery. Tanner Voisard was team medalist with a 42. Joey Leist and Bryce Lukey each had personal-best rounds of 44. Luke Crim battled back for a 45, with Seth Merickel and Reagan Steiner each adding solid 46's.

The varsity golf team improved their team score by two strokes at the Ft. Loramie Invitational on Tuesday. Tanner Voisard bounced back with a smooth 83, Luke Crim continued his solid season with an 89, Reagan Steiner bounced back with a 94 and Seth Merickel/Bryce Luke each added 103's in their first round at Arrowhead GC.
The varsity team has now competed their pre-season warm-up tournaments and will begin their regular season matches on Friday, August 9th at Shelby Oaks!
